I haven't had a real winter coat in years, I never believe they're actually warm for the cost. This coat is definitely worth it. Like other people have said the black plaid is more blue, the blue stripes make the black look kind of navy. I'm okay with that though. I'm a pretty solid size small, 5'4 125 lbs athletic build. The small is perfect, maybe even a pinch too big. An xs wouldn't be comfortable for me. Keep in mind Columbia is a sports brand so it is cut for athletics. I'm not a curvy girl but if I was the small probably wouldn't fit. There are lots of features in this coat, I don't ski though so I have no idea what they're for! In Cleveland in winter the wind rips across the lake from Canada and it can get brutal. I am very comfortable in this coat. May even try it out for running in sub freezing temps.

I had ordered this in XL because I had tried plenty of Columbia coats at the store and the XL is what was fitting in the ones I tried. When I got the XL it was a lot bigger than I was expecting. So I just happen to see this coat at Dick's and tried the Large to see if I should exchange it. The Large fit great in store. I ordered the exchange. I was surprised that when the Large came it was a tad tight across the bust. Determined to make sure I hadn't "grown", I had my sister pick the one from Dick's up and bring it home to compare. The amazon one IS about .5" smaller all the way around, length and width. Ah, good I didn't swell....just checking. Other than the sizing issue I was happy with the $124 price instead of the tagged $200 (Dicks had it for $150). I'm sure if you have time to wait it will go more on sale sometime, but we're going skiing next week! I picked this coat because it was cute and had the four features I was searching for. The inner liner that can separate, the hand warmer cuff (gator-cuff), the gator belt to keep the snow out and the armpit zippers to cool you down when sweaty from snow activities. I wear the liner for everyday winter, I love the warmth and that it is so light to carry around when you're inside a building (shopping of course). The outer coat is for snow activities, sledding, snowball fights, sleety days, etc. My daughter was the first to get gifted an Omni-heat Columbia coat last year and this year all 4 of us have one! I keep the coats separated and just have the kids throw on the outer if it's needed over it.

Also forgot to mention: Has a goggle pocket on the inside of the outer shell. Has Velcro adjustable wrists and hood on the outer shell only.

I bought the white with red inner and my daughter received the blue plaid with light blue inner.

Awesome Jacket!

I tried it on in a store so I knew how it fit before I ordered it online. I saved $50 since I ordered it online. Outer layer is like a windbreaker, and the inside layer is like a fluffy jacket. Together they are perfect. It's nice because it has a hood unlike some of the other jackets I was looking at. It also has these awesome hand/thumb things (not sure how to describe them). The color is true the picture also. It arrived before the estimated time. I am very happy with this purchase.
